Robotic integration
Contrast
Contrast is our platform dedicated to robotic integration in manufacturing.
Implementing robotics in manufacturing is bottlenecked by engineering capacity. Contrast lets engineers perform more integrations of robotic automation, and maintain those integrations at scale.
Through our hybrid model architecture, Contrast makes intelligent visual decisions in real time, which gives engineers a more intuitive experience. It improves the metrics engineers care about, and lets them focus on more important parts of the process.
The cost of engineering
The bottleneck of robotic engineering is largely engineering time spent programming and maintaining installations. Integration speed depends on how engineering capacity is allocated.
With AI helping engineers integrate automations, the engineering loop closes quickly. The time spent programming, maintaining, and optimizing is significantly reduced. So is the time to evaluate the benefits and downsides of an integration. Engineers can also rethink what a robot should be doing at any given moment.
Precise, repeatable and adaptive
When we say robots, we mean autonomous machines. A robot can have arms and legs. It can also be a machine that sees everything happening inside and outside itself and adjusts accordingly.
Today, precision and repeatability come from programmatic robotics: robots programmed from binary states, unable to make decisions for themselves.
A robot operated in an industrial environment needs the same precision and repeatability in adaptive situations. Contrast handles variance, new tasks, and unusual environments. It perceives its surroundings and responds to the activity around whatever it’s working on.
The work behind it
A robot cell today runs a program of fixed poses. It’s fast and predictable for as long as every part, fixture and light matches the day it was set up. When something drifts, the cell stops and waits for an operator, or it carries on and makes a bad output.
Contrast absorbs that variation. Otherwise, an engineer has to show it the whole task, so a new variant means showing it again and reprogramming, which can take hundreds of hours.
We keep the repeatability of programmed robotics, and Contrast helps engineers program those robots faster.
Think of Contrast as a robotic engineering sidekick, enabling engineers to explore the best possible trajectories and actions at rapid iterative speed.
